Gazco Reflex 3 sided gas fire installation

Materials Used:

  • Gazco Reflex 3 sided gas fire
  • up and out balance flue kit
  • cordosia

Value/price range: 4/5

This was the brand new Gazco Reflex 3 sided gas fire with electric under bed lighting.

This property had no chimney but that wasn’t an issue. We installed this using the up and out balance flue kit which made it no problem.

We then built a fake chimney breast with a nice chunky shelf above the fire and a bottom shelf/plinth.

Any material of your choice can be used for the bottom plinth. This customer chose cordosia.

Fireplace Upgrade including surround

Materials Used:

  • Multifuel Stove
  • Our Collection limestone surround
  • Stovax XQ flue system

Value/price range:

This client wanted to upgrade their old wooden surround and gas fire to a more modern looking fireplace. They opted for a more modern looking fireplace complete with a multifuel burner.

We opened the chimney breast up to the builder opening to create an inglenook for the stove. We also fitted an external Stovax XQ flue system to accommodate for the fact that the chimney was not full size.

We then plastered the interior of the nook, and tiled it with stepped black slate tiles to create a really modern look.

The customer chose one of our specially designed Portugese limestone surrounds in natural relvinhia to go with their multifuel stove.

Fireplace Upgrade

Materials Used:

  • Fireline FX4 Multifuel Stove
  • Riven Slate Hearth with log storage section
  • Riven Slate slips

Value/price range: 4/5

This client was looking to upgrade his old floating electric fire due to poor heat output.

He opted for a fireline FX4 multifuel stove, so in order to accomodate this we stripped out the chimney breast and opened it up to the builder’s opening, to make an inglenook. A liner was then installed, and a heat proof interior, to ensure the heat would bounce back into the room rather than be absorbed into the nook.

We then fitted a Riven Slate hearth, including a log store feature underneath, and to finish off we fitted Riven Slate slips.

The result was a rustic finish stove, with high quality heat output.

Fireplace Replacement and Room Transformation

Materials Used:

  • Gazco Studio 1 Fire
  • Stepped Slate Oyster Tiles
  • Limestone shelving and floating mantelpiece with steel structure

Value/price range: 5/5

This customer wanted to get rid of her outdated gas stove and transform her room with a feature fireplace. She showed us a few pictures and together we worked on a bespoke design which was made to measure, to ensure it would fit perfectly within her living room.

We created a floating limestone feature made with a steel structure to support the floating limestone ledge. For the fireplace itself, we fitted a glass-fronted studio gas fire surrounded by stepped slate oyster tiles.

The result was a sleek design marrying form and function. The addition of the limestone shelving underneath helped to draw the room together, with the fireplace as the starring attraction. In addition, the smooth lines of the limestone paired with the slightly rougher edges of oyster tiles made for an eye-catching finish.

Fireplace Overhaul - Complete Replacement

Materials Used:

  • Log effect, glass fronted fire with remote control
  • Wood and steel stud to build a fake chimney breast
  • Plaster boards and GRG fireproof boards for fireplace surround
  • Flue liner kit
  • Gas flue liner fitted

Value/price range: 5/5

This project involved replacing an old, outdated gas fire and the entire fireplace surround with something much more modern and minimalistic: a glass fronted, log effect fireplace accompanied by a remote control for complete convenience.

We aimed to create a clean entertainment hub around the fireplace, which included a compact recess for a television in the faux chimney breast. At the foot of the fire, we installed an AV unit constructed out of plaster and GRG fireproof boards, finished in starlight white. This, combined with the contemporary edge look design of the fireplace, creates a smooth aesthetic all round.

Fireplace Overhaul - Complete Replacement

Materials Used:

  • GRG fireproof board interior
  • Wood beam - fitted with easy fix kit
  • FP5 Wide multi fuel stove in an inglenook

Value/price range: 5/5

For this project, we replaced an old multi fuel stove with a sleek, free-standing FP5 Wide multi fuel stove. In order to do this, we opened up the existing fireplace – reverting back to the builders opening – to create an inglenook which housed the new stove. A new beige marfil marble hearth was installed, and for the perfect finishing touch we also fitted a rustic wooden beam along the top of the nook. The result was a much cleaner facade which perfectly combines aspects of both modern and traditional design.

New Fireplace Installation

Materials Used:

  • Verona surround in manila white marble with bartello grey inlays, hearth and back panel
  • Courts 3D Illusion electric fire

Value/price range: 4/5

This straightforward living room job required the installation of an electric fire completely from scratch. The fireplace chosen was a Courts 3D Illusion model, which uses LED lighting and a unique 3D image to create an attractive coal effect display. The Verona surround design was constructed in manila white marble, while bartello grey limestone was chosen for the hearth, inlays and back panel to add an extra touch of luxurious texture to the fireplace setting.

Went to Rotherham fireplace centre this morning to order a chimney liner and ask for some general advice on woodburners. Wes looked after us and was great. Excellent service and attitude to customers. Even helped load the van, can’t ask for more. Top man.
